This Combination of Injectables Can Help Combat Facial Changes After GLP-1 Weight Loss

“Ozempic face” has now become a common term and, likely without us describing it, an image probably already popped up in your head of a gaunt face with lackluster skin. It can be hard to maintain a healthy complexion and full face when on weight loss medications, making a duller complexion and slimmer look a common side effect. While patients are thrilled about shedding weight from their body, they’re also often bothered by how their face has changed as a result. The solution can be found in your dermatologist’s office. Galderma recently launched SCULPT & LIFT, “the first clinical facial aesthetic treatment that can help restore and refresh facial skin after rapid weight loss.”

Following an extensive study on rapid, medication-driven weight loss, Galderma is offering a solution to many patients’ woes. It’s a combination of two of their treatments—Restylane Lyft or Restylane Contour, paired with Sculptra to help restore and refresh facial balance following weight loss.

The survey from Galderma found that 48 percent of people reported significant facial changes due to weight loss and 33 percent said they would’ve taken preventative steps if they had known upfront. Galderma also cited a study that showed patients on GLP-1s appeared five years older due to volume changes in their face and increased wrinkles.

Galderma’s study on the SCULPT & LIFT combo found that the efficacy of the two injectables together resulted in improved facial harmony, radiance and hydration. After four weeks, 79 percent of patients said their facial balance had improved and 73 percent reported less sagging.
