Also on Giannetos’s agenda: A quick day-of chop, which began by cutting Cruz’s hair into a blunt, décolletage-grazing style—a fresh, yet classic shape that framed her face. “I wanted to accentuate Penélope’s gorgeous Chanel gown and give her a couture blowout,” he says. “I started by cutting her long brunette hair to a blunt décolletage length and added caramel flan highlights for a touch of warmth. I then gave her voluminous curls, let them set and finished with an extreme side part for an elegant, Old-Hollywood finish.”
To craft Cruz’s voluminous curls, Giannetos let them set and cool, before gently brushing through to build body and soft movement.
